My biography:

My name is Yuriy

I was born in Russia.

I am 57.

In 1972 after leaving school I arrived to the   military school of pilots in  Chernigov.

 From 1976 to 1981 I  served in DDR.

From 1981 to 1989 I  served  in the Far East.

I  finished  the  Academy of air defence in 1992.

From 1992 to 1998 I served in Yaroslavl.

The lieutenant colonel, " The military pilot - sniper ".

I piloted aircrafts  L-29, Uti Mig - 15, Mig - 21 PF, Mig – 23m, SU-27.

Now  I am   the reserve officer.

I am fond of aviation  history, aviation simulators.

"Legendary flight” Award

 

Dear friends!  

One of the nice thing about ham-radio is that you get to know a lot of people from all over the world.

Single-motor biplane started from Chernigov to America on March 4th, 1992. The flight has passed through areas of the Soviet Polar circle.

The Chernigov’s pilots have overcome 15800 kms, practically half of globe, and landed in Murfreesboro, state Tennessee. 20 years have passed since the date of this legendary flight.

"Legendary Flight" Award has been established in commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of the legendary flight.
 

The founder: Award program URDA, design UZ9RR.
Date and time of the award running: from 5th March till 31st December, 2012, (UTC).

Award is issued to licensed radio amateurs of all countries who can produce an evidence of having contacted with amateurs from ITU zones ##1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 29.
Radio amateurs of all countries are invited to take part in activity days on bands of 1.8 - 28 MHz.
Contacts of all kinds of modes are valid after March, 1992.

Dupe QSOs are allowed on different bands only.

To obtain the award for your QSOs you need to collect 20 points:

- contacts with amateurs from of ITU zones ## 1,2,6,7,8,19,20,21,22,23,24,25,26,29 1 point;

- contacts with amateurs of "Fifth Ocean" Club members 1 points;

- contacts with radio station which worked a special callsign EO20RAN (from 5th to 25th March, 2012) 2 points.


Payment of award and post expenses by registered mail (RECOMANDÉ):

- for Ukrainian radio amateurs  – 20 grivnas;

- for amateurs from CIS and other countries – an equivalent of 5 USD;

- for radio amateurs – schoolboys and radio teams of Youth Radio Stations – free-of-charge.

Please direct applications for «Legendary flight» award till 31st December, 2012 as an extract from logbook (electronic and written) certified by two radio amateurs and payment by registered mail (RECOMANDÉ) to the address of Award manager UZ9RR:
